Liverpool 1 – 3 Chelsea
Not a good day for Liverpool. Playing at home against fellow English team Chelsea, Liverpool managed to let victory escape and lost the match 1 – 3. Rafael Benítez’s squad started out better with a really nice goal from Fernando Torres. However, it seemed as if Liverpool’s defense forgot how to mark corner kicks or any other ball coming inside the area. Chelsea’s first two goals were scored on corner kicks. Two headers by Ivanović. Chelsea’s third came from Drogba, after a nice pass from Malouda.
Liverpool is now in a complicated position as they need to win at the away match. The second leg will be in London, next week on April 14th. Chelsea keeps going strong as they get closer to playing their fifth semi-final in six seasons.
Barcelona 4 – 0 Bayern Munich
Barca had absolutely no problem passing through Bayern at Camp Nou. Messi was brilliant and scored two goals. Eto’o and Henry the other two. I guess we can almost say Bayern is out. A big victory at home will be difficult when playing with a strong team like Barcelona.
