Another day, two more teams are out: Porto and Villarreal. The semis are set, but first, let’s take a quick look at today’s matches:
Arsenal 3 – 0 Villarreal
Arsenal got the job well done at home after a 1-1 tie in Spain. Villa played partially with 10 men on the pitch and was out of Marcos Senna’s help. Arsenal moves onto the semi-finals. Villarreal goes home leaving Barcelona as the only non-English representative.
Porto 0 – 1 Manchester United
Porto had the amazing chance to kick Manchester United out of the competition. A tie would do. But it didn’t. Reason: Cristiano Ronaldo’s amazing goal early into the first half. And that was it. Man U kept the Portuguese team out and qualified to the semis to try and defend last year’s title.
Next matches are on April 28 and 29 and May 5 and 6.
