The traditional side of America-MG not only got promoted to second division. On the weekend, coelho (the rabbit) beat ASA at home, in front of 10 thousand cheering fans. The goal, scored by Bruno Mineiro, came only in the last minute, but the fans were already celebrating. America had won the first match was well 3-1.

One of the main names of the campaign was 38 year-old forward Euller – big names in the 90′s for sides such as Palmeiras and Vasco. The man even played a few matches for the national team in the 02 World Cup Qualifying. Another name was of right-back Evanilson.

Relegation and promotion

As America celebrated, the fans of four sides were saddened by the relegation to fourth division of their sides. The teams are Confiança-SE, Sampaio Correia-MA, Mixto-MT and Marcilio Dias-SC.

Besides America and ASA, the other 2 sides going to second division are Icasa-CE and Guaratinguera. And this wraps up the third division. Below the goal and celebration of America’s first title of third division:
