The Evolution of Brazil’s Kit

br1945

Great visual recap of all kits used by Brazil since 1914. The kit in the picture was used in 1945. The highlight goes to the red jersey used in the 1917 South American Championship.

The reason? At the time, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay played in white and there was no away jersey. Before the match Brazil – Chile, the side to wear a different color was randomly chosen, and the only jersey available was red. The color gave luck to Brazil, who won the match 5-0 (Caetano 21′, Neco 23′, Haroldo 26′ and 59′ and Amílcar 41′).

Back to the jerseys, my favorites are 1918, 1970, 1977 and the blue from 1990. The ugliest? Everything produced by Nike (except 06 and the current blue). What’s your favorite?
