Today, one o the most traditional Brazilian clubs turns 100 years. Inter, red half of Rio Grande do Sul, celebrated one century of history, with two unforgettable moments.
The club ruled Brazil in the 70’s conducted by Paulo Roberto Falcao. Even today, the club holds the title of the only Brazilian club to win the national league without losing a single game. And in recent years, it has grabbed the spot as one of the top Brazilian sides by winning Copa Libertadores, the Club World Cup, the Recopa, the Copa Sulamericana, and by always having good campaigns in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Also, the club is known for being a pool of great talents. Falcao, Taffarel, Alexandre Pato, Rafael Sobis, Nilmar, Alex (just sold to Spartak), Dunga, Paulo César Carpegiani, Mauro Galvao, Lucio (current national team), Branco (World Champion in 94), Daniel Carvalho (current CSKA), Christian (current with Portuguesa – played for the national team), Claudiomiro… The list of players who started there is huge.
And the list of other great players who been there too. Gamarra, D’Alessandro, Figueroa, Mario Sergio, Goycochea, Fernandao, Dada Maravilha…
The celebration this Saturday took 15 thousand fans to the Beira-Rio stadium to celebrate. Congratulations, Sport Club Internacional!
ps: my dad is a Inter fan. And he is so emotional about it that it’s funny.
