Romário spends the night in jail.

For a player who has been awarded FIFA’s Best Player of the Year, scored over 1,000 goals and played in the top clubs around the globe, it must be hard to suddenly spend a night in jail. Talk about change.

This past night, Brazilian ex-footballer Romário had to sleep on the floor after being taken in for allegedly not paying his children’s (Romarinho and Moniquinha – yes I know, who names their kids little-romario and little-monica) food pension. His ex-wife, Mônica Santoro, says he owes R$89 thousand Brazilian Reais (around $44.5 thousand dollars).

Romário will have a hearing today at 3pm Brazil time.
