Beckham will have to wait.

It was not today. David Beckham will have to wait for the match that will give him his 100th cap for England. The LA Galaxy beau has been left out Capello’s plans for the match against Swizerland on February 6th. Even though Capello says the doors aren’t closed for him, it makes it har to call a player who hasn’t played a competitive match since England lost to Croatia last year, on November 21. He needs to either switch clubs or arrange some football matches in LA.
Capello said: “The reason that David is not in the squad is because he has not had any real match practice since playing in November.
“When I spoke with David on the phone yesterday I advised him that he is still part of my plans and once he is playing regularly in America we will look closely at him again.”
Becks has indeed been trainning in Arsenal and believes he is as fit as can be. But Capello tends to think otherwise.
Other not so lucky footballers left out from the 30-man squad include Keeper Paul Robinson. On the other hand, Aston Villa’s Curtis Davies and Gabriel Agbonlahor have won their first call-ups.
Capello will decide on the final 23-man squad on Saturday, when he will also have to make a decision on who will be Englans’ captain.
