Official: C. Ronaldo to join Real Madrid

It’s a world record. C. Ronaldo was sold to Real Madrid for the humongous sum of £ 80 million. That tops (by a lot) Zidane’s € 65 million and Kaká’s (reported) € 60 million – and all Real Madrid’s buys. It is really a new Galácticos era.
From BBC:
“United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player,” read a statement from the Old Trafford club.
It added the decision came at the 24-year-old Ronaldo’s request after he “again expressed his desire to leave”.
United said the offer was unconditional and want the matter to be concluded by 30 June, while Madrid hope to agree personal terms “in the next few days”.
Real’s president, Florentino Pérez, made it very clear that he would do “everything possible” to get Ronaldo. Man U’s Sir Alex Ferguson would also get his perk since it is understood he will get the transfer fee cash to reinvest in the football market. It was a football business decision.
So Man U is quite happy. So is Real and Galácticos man, Pérez. And so is C. Ron, by the way, who truly wants to join Madrid’s squad (who wouldn’t?) and is making a very smart career move.
Who’s next? Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso, Valencia’s David Villa or Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery?
