Gold Cup hosts classic in the final: USA vs. Mexico

The 2009 Concacaf Gold Cup will once again host the classic rivalry between Mexico and the US. The two teams faced each other int he final of the 2007 Gold Cup and the United States then won by 2-1. Mexico will come with all strength to beat the now favorites to the title.
Coming from a very hard semi-final, where the Mexicans beat Costa Rica on penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie, El Tri advances to its second consecutive final and sixth overall. The US had no problem beating Honduras 2-0 and are confident to win the title. This is the second consecutive final the US has reached at a major tournament this year (the first one, Confederation Cup against Brazil – a 2-3 loss). This is also United State’s second consecutive Gold Cup final and seventh overall.
The match will be at Giant’s Stadium in New Jersey this Sunday, the 26th, at 3pm local time.
