Spain crushes Russia. 3 – 0.

It was a giant torero against a small babushka. With spectacular football, Spain shook Russia’s net 3 times and got the very well deserved ticket to the final match of EURO 2008. La Furia will face Germany this Sunday, in Vienna.

With 3 beautiful goals by Hernández, Silva and Güiza, Spain was also able to completely stop Arshavin, the big piece of the Russia puzzle.

Russia had difficulties attacking due to the great positioning of the Spanish players. Casillas was there when needed, but his hands were not really requested today.

This is the first time in 24 years that Spain reaches the final of a significant tournament. Back in 1984, Spain lost the EURO title to Platini’s France. La Seleccion only won the EURO once, in 1964. This Sunday, however, is their change of breaking up with tradition. And even though they will be playing against the favorites, Germany, who have already won 4 titles, I am confident the Spaniards can shine like they did today.
