Vital day for group B. Germany desperately needed victory in order to join Croatia in the quarter-finals. Here are today’s results:
Poland 0 – 1 Croatia – with a perfect sweep through the first phase of EURO 2008, Croatia goes to the quarter-finals confident. Poland goes home. The Croatian goal was scored by #17 Ivan Klasnić.
Austria 0 – 1 Germany – a tense match with opportunities for both sides took Austria out of the competition today. Ballack scored an amazing goal on a free kick to give Germans hope and keep Deutschland alive.
Germany and Croatia are secure in the quarter-finals. Poland and Austria will go home and what the rest of the matches on their big screen televisions.
