Scolari gets 4 game suspention
By Ana on Sep 21, 2007 in EURO 2008 Qualifiers
Portugal’s coach Luiz Felipe Scolari will be suspended for 4 games after trying to punch (in my eyes that was a slap!) Serbian player Dragutinovic. Big Phil will also have to pay a “ticket” of 12200 euros. Dragutinovic was suspended for 2 matches.
Big issue here is that Portugal is in no situation of having its coach suspended. The team really needs wins in order to qualify for EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. Even though the next games are supposedly easier ones (Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in October followed by Armenia and Finland in November), not having a coach during decisive matches is an extra strengh for the opponents.
Big Phil will watch Portugal’s destiny on TV.
