City handed Champions League boost

Manchester City have received a boost ahead of their Champions’ League clash with Villarreal, with the news that the Spanish side will be missing four star players for the game.

Star midfielder Cani was ruled out for up to six weeks after picking up a knee injury in the La Liga game with Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.

But Villarreal will also be with out Marcos Senna, Marco Ruben and Javier Camunas for the game against the Premier League leaders.

When the two sides last met at the Etihad Stadium, those placing free bets on European football note how it was Roberto Mancini’s men who took the honours, thanks to a last gasp Sergio Aguero winner.

However, it remains essential that City come away with another three points from Wednesday’s game, after a sluggish start to their European challenge.

The English side sit third in Group A, having drawn with Napoli and lost to Bayern Munich so far.

Villarreal are yet to pick up any points in the group, so it is a game that Mancini will be expecting to win.

Elsewhere, Chelsea will be looking to put their stuttering domestic form behind them, when they travel to Genk.

Chelsea top their group, and know that a win against the Belgian side will move them closer to qualification for the knock out stages.

Arsenal take on Marseille at the Emirates Stadium, in a similar situation to Chelsea at the top of their group.

In their last Champions’ League outing, they beat the French side, with a late winner, and will be hoping they can carry their resurgent Premier League form into Europe.

Manchester United complete the English sides in Champions’ League action, when they host Otelul Galati on Wednesday night.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s second placed side will be looking to secure a second successive win against the tournament’s newcomers. Where will you be placing your free bet?
