Tutus on Germany’s national colors following a fashion show in the northern German village of Celle May 12, 2008. German designer Barbara Walter created a collection of TuTus for soccer / football fans to express the sporting and fighting spirit either in ballet or soccer. I love it!

Czech Republic will win the EURO (says RZB).

Yes, you read it. According to Austrian bank Raiffeisen Zentralbank (RZB), the Czechs will beat Spain in the finals after a penalty shoot out (the match will be tied 1-1). The big boys at the bank, applied the same statistical models they use to predict product evolution, bond values, etc. After all that number crunching all I can conclude is that those guys have really a lot of free time.

EURO 2008 - watch the ticks!

Adding to the worry and concentration targeted to winning matches on EURO 2008, teams will also have to worry about this other little thingy: ticks. Yes, Austria and Switzerland are full of them during the summer. The worse is that these are special little ticks. Some of them are infected with a virus that could paralise the nervous system. Yeikes!

Spain might be in trouble.

Spain might be in deep EURO 2008 trouble. The squad has been warned by UEFA that they could be thrown out of the competition if the Spanich government tries to interfere in the elections of the Spanish FA (says the BBC). In case such thing occurs, the Spanish would give place to Northern Irelando to enter the competition. Something sad to see happening. Spain had an amazing qualifier campaign and I do hope they can still stay in.

This past Sunday, UEFA announced the drawing of the groups for [tag]EURO 2008[/tag] in [tag]Austria and Switzerland[/tag] from 7 to 29 of June. And although some squads got some easiness in their groups, EURO matches are always tough since the ones who qualify are the top teams in the European neighborhood. Let’s see who got who in each group.

Want to swap footie managers?

The week has been pretty stressfull for some managers/coaches. Portugal’s Big Phil Scolari has managed to qualify his team to EURO 08 with a poor draw agains Finland, which didn’t make all the Portuguese people very happy with his work. McClaren took some sort of stupid decisions on England’s last match and managed to give the Three Lions a nice summer vacation. He is now home with his pocket full of money leaving behind a fat spot to be filled by a brave new manager. Brazilian coach Dunga got lucky (with the help of God) against Uruguay, I still do not think he is good enough to manage a team that needs constant babysitting and stimulation. So right here, I propose a swap.

If you are planning on going to Austria and Switzerland for EURO 2008, or are even just planning to go in quieter times, a must-see stop is the Lindt & Sprüngli chocolate factory located in Kilchberg, Switzerland. Eating lots of Lindt chocolate is a requirement for those wanting to fully experience Swiss culture (coupled with good fondue, raclette, and lots and lots of good cheeses).
