Journalist Cosme Rimolli reports in his blog that before going to South Africa, the team headed by Dunga will do its preparation in Lubango, city 676 km from Luanda (in the picture).
The information was disclosed in an interview with Tsambo Makaba, owner of the company who is bridging CBF and Angola’s government in the negotiations. The middleman says that CBF has been looking for a peaceful location, where fans and press will have very little access – the opposite to what happened in Weggis, Switzerland, in the preparation for the 06 World Cup. Lubango also matches other requirements in terms of altitude and weather. According to Makaba, CBF wants a located 1700m high – very similar to what they will have in South Africa.
Still according to him, Brazil will stay there for about one week – as opposed to 15 days in Weggis. And here is good information: The man suggested that the team will do a good part of its preparation in Brazil.
Also, Cosme Rimolli says his sources tell him that Angola’s government will pay 2 million euros to CBF to have Brazil there. Makaba did not confirm that. On Friday, a meeting is supposed to take place to for another round of negotiations.
