What if Maradona becomes Argentina’s new coach?

Can you imagine? That would be really interesting. Not really good for Argentina but interesting nontheless. Today there was an almost confirmation that Maradona will be the hermanos’ boss. It’s seems like the AFA did not even consider another man for the job and Maradona believes he is quite ready to take on the burden of qualifying Argentina for the 2010 World Cup.
With great coaches out there (such as Sergio Batista – who won Beijing footy title this year with Argentina), the AFA seems to be focusing on Maradona (who has almost no coaching experience). Quite a risky bet. One thing Diego does have, however: great motivational effect on the players, which is a good thing.
With a past of drugs and drama, even though Maradona was great on the pitch, I don’t believe he will do well as a coach. But let’s wait and see.
