Not the prettiest match ever seen, but goal achieved, I’ll take the three points. Thank you very much. Brazil beat Paraguay yesterday 2-1 and is now securely placed on the first position of the South American qualifiers. Brazil now has the chance to qualify playing against Argentina, in Buenos Aires, on the 5th of September. Imagine that?
Brazil was better overall but was taken by surprise after Cabañas (clearly overweight but still a very dangerous player) scored on a free kick. It takes a goal to wake Brazil.
The reply came on the 40th minute, with Robinho. A beautiful goal, Henry style.
Early into the second half, newcomer Nilmar scored to give Brazil peace of mind. From then on, Brazil created many other chances but was not able to shake Paraguay’s net again. No issues, a win is a win.
Kaká was brilliant and Dani Alves is becoming a better option then Maicon on the right. Our forwards however are still not strong. Brazil is still lacking that Ronaldo or Romario style player that is a killer forward. Robinho is not that at all, neither is Nilmar. Is Brazil’s best option Luis Fabiano?
