I am sad for Ronaldo

I am sad for Ronaldo

Ronaldo is on of the best strikers to enter a football pitch. To his cry yesterday, after injruing his knee, again, was a pain for me. The 33 year old AC Milan player has had on of the most amazing careers a footballer can have and it is a shame to see, everywhere, that this [...]

Trapattoni named Republic of Ireland’s New Manager

Trapattoni named Republic of Ireland’s New Manager

Interesting. Especially because his salary will be partly funded by Denis O’Brien, one of Ireland’s richest men.
from BBC:Giovanni Trapattoni has been named manager of the Republic of Ireland. The former Italy coach has agreed a two-year deal and will leave Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg to take charge for the game against Serbia on 24 [...]

Well, that is a lot of money.

A new list with teh world richest clubs has been released by Deloitte. The research analised the profit of over 20 football clubs for the 2006/2007 season. No surprises, Real Madrid was number one. Folowed by Manchester United and Barcelona (the Spanish are indeed the richest huh?)

Play at Camp Nou (for 40K Euros)

You know, I wasn’t sure where to have my birthday football match this year but I guess I have found the place: Barcelona’s home stadium, Camp Nou. The stadium has opened up for the fans (wallets): for only 40,000 Euros, anyone can have a Ronaldinho/Messi/Eto’o day. With and empty of full stadium. Yay!

It had to be Adriano.

It had to be Adriano.

It is no big news my lack of admiration for (now) Sao Paulo forward Adriano. His little motivation to play his best is World Cup times and at one of the best squads out there (Inter) just agravates me. But then he went back to Brazil and seemed like the old Adriano again. A player [...]

Egypt takes Africa Cup of Nations.

Egypt takes Africa Cup of Nations.

Egypt got its 6th African Cup title yesterday against Cameroon. In a day where defenders are not supposed to have bad days, Cameroon back boy Song, had one. On top of that, as Cameroon adopted a defensive game, Egypt kept pressuring until the goal finally happened. Eto’o watched all that happen up front, a place [...]

Capello and Owen: Chapter 1.

Fridays are perfect days for speculation. Today we open a new chapter in English football: Capello and the reason why he did not start Michael Owen. Come on folks, the guy is good looking, plays great football, but Capello kept him off. Why? Speculation is what we are here for today (after all, today is [...]

Hot Egypt crush Ivory Coast

Hot Egypt crush Ivory Coast

From Teo, at Ole Ole.
Egypt will defend its African Cup of Nations title in the championship game after routing Ivory Coast 4-1 in Kumasi tonight. Two goals from in-form striker Amr Zaki sealed victory for Egypt after with Abdulkader Keita’s goal in between offering a glimmer of hope to the Elephants. Zaki’s first goal appeared [...]

Photo: the stereotypes of a transfer. Afonso Alves goes to Middlesbrough.

Brazilian forward Afonso Alves has been succesfully transfered to Middlesbrough. The player, who broke all goal records in the Netherlands, was received in England as a king. A Brazilian king. And since all people can remember about Brazil are (1) good soccer players and (2) carnaval, it was easy for the English team to make [...]

Brazil wins friendly against Republic of Ireland.

Alright, the match was ok. Brazil did the job, scored a goal, took home the victory (1-0) in Dublin. But playing a squad like Republic of Ireland’s (one who barely has a coach and lacks “skillful skills”) should be a chance to score lots of goals. Robinho was the one to shine, with a beautiful [...]
